So...back on the home front, the weather was rainy and cool here. Baby Boy and I were stuck indoors (for the most part).
After dinner, I was getting Baby Boy out of his high chair...
Baby Boy: Dada! Dada!
Mommy: Daddy is hunting; he won't be home until after bedtime.
Mommy: The weather is pretty yukky outside.
Baby Boy: Yeeeaaaah!
Mommy: Do you think Daddy will bring home a deer?
Baby Boy: NOOOOOOO!
Mommy: Me either, but I'm sure he's having fun exploring the woods.
Just then....
The door open and in walks Hubby! As I tell Hubby about this little exchange, we chuckle. Turns out Hubby did get a deer (and to think I thought he was just looking for an opportunity for some alone time).
Tonight...I spent my evening grinding and packaging meat! (Yuk--I'll spare you the pictures!)
Sounds like you'll be having venison for dinner! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog yesterday! Have a great day!
Wow, sounds like a lot of work for sure, but worth it!!
ReplyDeleteWAY TO GO!!! Thats awesome... so glad you got some extra deer meat and some good laughs!
ReplyDeleteGod bless-
Amanda
YUM Venison. My mouth is watering.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what muzzleloading season is. I assume it's loading a muzzle. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for swinging by my blog and giving me the get well wishes.
Hope you enjoy your venison. (That's deer right? I am such a city girl.)
Yes, the men are all a-buzz with hunting trips planned. I'm a Colorado native and grew up on elk as my dad was an avid hunter. I know how icky all the packaging, etc. is, but I do love the meat. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBetter you than me :) but I bet that meat will be delicious!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your hubby on the deer. The baby sounds like a sweetie :)
ReplyDeleteGrinding meat sounds interesting and icky at the same time. Sounds like you survived it okay. : )
